Sometimes it needs someone who understands

My name is Michael Sommer. I help people in Bern and the surrounding area get a grip on unopened mail, taxes and dealings with authorities.

Administrative problems often don't arise from laziness or disorganization, but from overwhelm, fears or difficult life situations. I meet every person with respect.

My approach

As a Business Economist FH, I bring solid knowledge in finance and administration. As a SVEB I Adult Educator, I understand how people learn and how to communicate complex content clearly. My further training in conversation skills and crisis intervention helps me provide the right support even in difficult situations.

There is no fixed procedure with me. In the first conversation, I listen and understand where you stand. Then I develop a plan together with you, one that fits your life and doesn't overwhelm you.

What's important to me

No judgment
I don't ask how it got this far. We look at what needs doing now.
Your pace
Some need time to build trust. That's completely normal and okay.
Absolute discretion
What we discuss stays between us. Even relatives only learn what you want them to.
Small successes
Even a single sorted pile of letters is an important step forward.

Understanding special situations

Depending on the situation, I work differently:

Young adults
During the transition to independence, I develop structures and systems together with them.
Senior help
Help with mail, bills and forms that keep getting more complicated.
People in crisis
The urgent things first: deadlines, reminders, payment orders. The rest can wait.
ADHD support
Adapted working style with short units and clear structure.
Procrastination
We start with a single letter, not the whole pile.
Cooperation
Coordination with therapists, social services and guardians, if you wish.

Let's get to know each other

In the first conversation we see whether I can help you. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
